OPI Texas Nail Polish Collection
The big colors of Texas, now on your nails. OPI, one of my favorite brands, has released a new “Texas” nail line. “A fresh and refreshing facet to and effortlessly chic, very unique, and colorful original style season” It has 12 new colors all with, clever and cute names such as “Houston We Have a Purple” and “Austin-tatious Turquoise”. My personal favorite is the previously mentioned “Austin-tatious Turquoise” pictured below. With only one coat, it can provide a sea blue sheen to any base coat, or layered providing a nice solid, butterfly wing like, shimmering turquoise. Their colors are also available on Dell laptops as well which, is a clever promoting strategy. Their colors mainly feature bright flamboyant colors reminding you of the big and loud nature of the Texas heat, attitude, and spirit. Band Together-Austin City Limits Music Festival 2011 Review
Coldplay concert at Austin City Limits Music Festival 2011
Photo posted by pacsun on Flickr
Every year some of the best artists in the world get together and put on a weekend full of great music, food, and fun, the Austin City Limits Music Festival. There was something for everyone, from Coldplay to Kanye West to Stevie Wonder. But many people questioned whether or not there were very many good small bands this year. The bands were not all very well known but it was still easy to find a way to fill your day with different bands. People flocked to Fleet Foxes, Cee Lo, and so many other bands. But the main thing that people worried about was Kanye West or Coldplay. For diehard fans the choice was obvious, but for others it was a race from one stage to the next. “I’ve never seen so many people sing along to a contemporary band before,” Austinite Allen Halbrook said about the Coldplay concert. LASA Freshman Elena Cole said “The Kanye West concert was very loud, the vibrations of the bass could be felt throughout the crowd. It made me want to throw up. But it got better towards the end. It was actually pretty fun.” But all in all the festival was a success. No matter what band(s) you went to go see you were almost guaranteed a good time.
